Astrid Mackenzie

Warden

Astrid Mackenzie and her husband Ian relocated to the US from Australia in 1995, at the start of a gloriously snowy winter. They were members of a parish on the south shore for several years, but after moving back to Boston, they and their sons Kyle and Aidan joined St. Paul’s in 2007. Astrid taught church school classes when her children were small, and has been singing with the choir for almost a decade. She also serves as a lector, and coordinates the acolyte program.

Astrid holds a Bachelor’s degree and Graduate Diploma in psychology. She worked as a Business Systems Analyst at the headquarters of Sheraton Hotels, but withdrew from the workforce before her twin sons were born. Since that time, Astrid has been homeschooling her boys, helping them to learn everything from reading and writing to precalculus and programming. Through the dual enrollment program, they now attend some classes at Middlesex Community College. This gives Astrid a little more free time to serve on the vestry, attend book group, resume her MBA studies, and snuggle on the couch with her dogs.
