George Parker

Delegate to Diocesan Convention

George Parker was born and raised in the Boston area, confirmed at the Church of the Redeemer in Chestnut Hill and graduated from Noble and Greenough School. He received his AB from Kenyon College and MBA from Tuck (Dartmouth) and spent 4 years as a Navy Supply Officer. George started his career in commercial lending at First National Bank of Boston and spent 27 years marketing investment management most recently for State Street Global Advisors. He is currently looking for a new opportunity. In 1981 George married Virginia (known as Ginna, see separate bio) and after living in Westwood and Norfolk moved to Dedham in 1990. Son Corwin lives in Saint Simons, Georgia and works for the Sea Island Company as a Golf Sales Manager; daughter LeeAnn lives in South Boston and works at Carney Sandoe Associates. Daughter Hannah lives in the North End and works in the Corporate office of In The Pink. The Parkers joined St. Paul’s in 1990 and all three children were confirmed here. George is active in the Church as a Greeter and Lector and is on the Finance Committee. He completed seven years serving on the Vestry and then as Warden in 2012. George has also made two trips to Haiti. George has a passion for golf, travel, their chocolate lab Callie, yellow lab Brody, and a glass of wine. His favorite place is Sea Island, Georgia where his mother lives and son works. He also enjoys spending time with family & friends in Mattapoisett.
