The Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir, led by Minister of Music David Tierney, is an adult choir providing much of the music for our worship services. Hymns are sung from the Hymnal 1982 as well as Lift Every Voice and Sing. Anthems range from classical to contemporary. The Chancel Choir provides the majority of music for services at St. Paul’s. This mixed voice choir rehearses Thursday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. and Sundays, 9:00 to 9:30 a.m., and sings at the 10:00 a.m. service every Sunday from September to June. Repertoire ranges from Tallis and Byrd, to Haydn and Mozart, to Matthias and Tavener. Membership is open to experienced singers of high school age and older. Participation is by audition or invitation. Child Care is provided during Thursday evening rehearsals.
The Festival Choir
The Festival Choir is the Chancel Choir augmented by ten to twenty singers and sings at the musical services scheduled throughout the church year. Rehearsals are scheduled for specific Thursday evenings throughout the year. Participation is open to all.
