Jan Brogan and her husband Bill Santo are still newcomers to St. Paul’s having joined the church two years ago. After many years in Westwood, they now live on Richards Street around the corner from the church and love being able to walk to and from the 8 a.m. service.
Jan is a writer, who published four murder mysteries before turning to true crime, history and poetry. A journalist for close to forty years, she worked at the Worcester Telegram, Providence Journal and Boston Globe.
She holds a journalism degree from Boston University and a Master’s degree in English from UMass Boston. She taught writing at BU’s Summer Journalism Academy for ten years, and still misses working with teenagers. She’s taught adult classes in memoir, narrative non-fiction, and mystery writing at various continuing ed programs around Boston. For fun, she plays tennis and guitar and jams regularly with the Dedham School of Music’s bluegrass group.
She and Bill split time between Martha’s Vineyard and Dedham, where their two grown children and families live nearby. They are blessed to spend a lot of time with their six grandchildren.
